Director and producer, he has been the head of the T&M-Paris since 1997. Prior to this, he was the codirector of Atem with Georges Aperghis (Théâtre Nanterre-Amandiers, 1992-1997). He has commissioned and produced numerous operas and musical performances (Aperghis, Bianchi, Dillon, Donatoni, Dubelski, Dusapin, Goebbels, Lorenzo, Pesson, Sarhan, etc.) and has contributed to premieres in France (Dusapin, Goebbels, Mitterer, Sciarrino, etc.).
In 2011, he directed Richard Wagner’s Ring Saga (Jonathan Dove and Graham Vick version), a 3-day performance at the Casa da Música in Porto. He also directed Pas Si by Stefano Gervasoni (2008), Kafka-Fragmente by György Kurtág (2007), The Rake’s Progress by Igor Stravinski (2007, 2009), Consequenza, a tribute to Luciano Berio (2006), Medea by Pascal Dusapin (2005) and Richter, a documentary chamber opera by Mario Lorenzo (2003), performances that were held in France, Europe, and Argentina. Author of several articles on today’s music, he coordinated a collective work on Georges Aperghis (Le corps musical, éditions Actes Sud, 1990).
He is a founding member and president (since 2002) of the Réseau Varèse, and has been a consultant for the Musica Festival program in Strasbourg since 2006. In 2009, he led the Atelier Opéra en Création at the festival in Aix-en-Provence, and in 2012 he taught at the Chigiana academy in Sienna with the composer Giorgio Battistelli.
